The 2013 WCSA Summer Angling Festival got underway and it saw Mistress anglers at the weigh in on most days.
Our anglers won no less than 18 daily prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd places), 7 daily 1st prizes and overall 2nd place in the ladies section- we were the most consistent boat overall.

The weigh in is always an exciting, bustling time in Whitby with the days anglers, the towns angling community and curious tourists coming down for a look at the days catch so we were pleased that Mistress put on a good show for them all.
It wasn’t the easiest of Summer festivals and got off to a slow start but overall there were some fine fish weighed in throughout.

Outside of the festival we had great fishing with codling, pollock, ling, mackerel, coalies, catfish and gurnard all caught- and there were some fine specimens among them too.
With double fish being commonplace, beginners getting off the mark, parent and child nights and some light tackle experimentation- it made for a magical Summers fishing off Whitby.
As Summer went on we saw some exceptional fish boated along with personal bests and Mistress boat records being beaten.

An 8lb Catfish. We pick a few up every year on Mistress.

As Autumn drew closer the big ling started to show and that exciting time of year where personal bests are often dramatically smashed was quickly upon us.
