Mistress Uptiding Update: Late February 2014

Its been an eventful couple of weeks aboard Mistress! we have managed some great days and we’ve also managed to squeeze in yet another Night Uptiding Trip.
We have taken cod to over 10lb and the night uptiding fish seem to be getting bigger too!

The better anglers are taking some better bags of fish, so it shows they’re still here and the best fishing is still far from over.
With double figure fish taken on both day and night time trips, Mistress anglers have had a cracking time and it is sure to continue.

Best bag from the trips went to Mistress regular Faron Trueman with a 30lb of cod caught on a short night time uptiding trip- this included some cracking fish.

Faron did so well that night that he couldn’t even stop watching his rod tip rattle as we took a picture of him with this excellent brace of cod.

The daytime uptiders weren’t to be left out of the big fish action too.
John Holder of Malton had a good day out and caught these two beautiful cod on the 18th- the best going into double figures.

All of our trips saw some fine cod caught making February a far cry from the ‘quiet month’ it is often thought of in the boat fishing calendar.

While there were some real hefty fish caught this month- nothing makes us happier than to see a youngster do well and enjoy their day aboard Mistress.
Matthew from Stratford came aboard with his Dad and Grandad for a days uptiding and caught this superb cod- well done young man.

Heading into March- prospects remain good with potential trips further out (if weather allows) and there are still plenty of cod close in for uptiding trips.
