Signs of the May water clearing – 04/05/13

We managed to get to sea today, following a a few days off with my partner and my new born Daughter, Lily.

We started out uptiding due the fresh winds making conditions a bit shabby.  We moved around a couple of marks, landing 4 codling, 1 coalie, and a dogfish. with quite lot of bites and a few lost fish.

The wind eased and allowed us to get offshore where we managed to get amoung a few codling s to white and blue shads, with us having several drifts with 2 or 3 rods in at a time,

The signs of the algae clearing are certainly there, fingers  crossed for it to stay settled so we can get on to the main summer shad fishing.
